Cavan’s Christmas festivities will kick off on Wed 18th & Thurs 19th December 4:00 – 9:00pm with a Twilight market which promises to be packed full of Cavan’s festive cheer and culture!
Look out for the following activities….
Highlight #1: Umbrella Parade
Join us this year for our Umbrella Parade. Open to all ages, we invite you to decorate an umbrella and participate in our parade on Townhall carpark at 7:30pm, both evenings.
Prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, Most Festive, and Most Cavan Umbrella! Winners will be announced on Thursday 19th, at 8:30pm.
Highlight #2: Local Live Music Performances
Lively tunes will fill the air as performances take place at different locations around the Townhall Arts Centre.
This year’s lineup features The Parasol All-Star Jazz Band, and Jon LaFleur Band and a number of solo performances.
Highlight #3: Arts & Craft
Support your local community this season with a visit to our Craft and Art area. 24 talented, Cavan-based artists will fill this space with stunning gifts, from handmade wreaths, knitwear, and jewellery to candles, paintings, soaps, wood carved gifts, and more.
Highlight #4: Artisan Food on Market Square
Market Square will be filled with artisan food producers displaying their finest offerings local produce.
Highlight #5: Children Activities
We offer a variety of children’s activities over the two days, including a self-guided elf scavenger hunt, a warm welcome from Mrs. Claus, a chance to make a Christmas wish, and more.
Highlight #6: DineYard (Street Food) |
We’re excited to introduce DineYard new additions! Antoinette Ceelan from Aunty Netta’s will be serving churros with sweet and savoury options, paired with refreshing homemade lemonade. Vitoria from Auto Pizza will offer a unique Georgian-inspired 7-inch pizza, and Corleggy Cheese will showcase the much-loved beloved melted cheese dish, Raclette.
Parking
Parking is available at the Cavan County Library, Courthouse, Cavan Cathedral, and all other public parking amenities.
