Cavan’s Christmas festivities will kick off on Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd December, 1 – 7pm with a market which promises to be packed full of Cavan’s festive cheer and culture!

Local Live Music Performances | 1 – 7pm | Both Days
Lively tunes will fill the air as performances take place at the main stage located at the bottom of Townhall Street and our busker’s bench on Market Square.
This year’s live lineup features No Vendors, The Fly-by-Night Parasol Jazz Troupe, and the Jon LaFleur Band performing on Townhall Street. Meanwhile, Market Square’s Buskers Bench will be home to a host of gifted local musicians throughout both days.
Umbrella Spectacle NEW!! 5 – 7pm | Both Days
Join us this year for our Umbrella Spectacle. Open to all ages, we invite you to decorate an umbrella and participate in our spectacle on Townhall street between 5 – 7pm.
If you wish to win a prize, registration will take place with Fiona and Rosie on Townhall street between 4 – 5pm Each day.
Prizes – Most Creative, Most Festive, and Most Cavan!!

Arts & Craft Marquee | 1 – 7pm | Both Days
Support your local community this season with a visit to our Craft and Art Marquee. 30 talented, Cavan-based artists, will fill this space with stunning gifts, from handmade wreaths, knitwear, and jewellery to candles, paintings, soaps, leather goods, and more.
Local Live Street Performances
Santa: Huge thanks to the Cavan Town Teams for coordinating the Cavan Community Gardaí, Cavan’s Little Blue Heroes and Santa to switch on the Christmas lights at 4pm on Saturday the 2nd of December on Market Square.
Elf scavenger Hunt & Ms Claus: Join our Elf scavenger hunt with the help of Ms Claus and the Naughty Elf who will be ready to greet visitors to the Market on Townhall Street, this Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd Dec, 1 – 7pm.
Theatre Groups: The Market will also feature performances over both days of festive family favourites from the Gonzo Youth Theatre, members from the Hacklers Drama and Wonder Youth Theatre from 1 – 5pm.
Mini Face Art: The magic of Christmas will come to life in a whirlwind of vibrant colours and cheerful designs! Dive into the spirit of the season with our array of festive face art offerings.
Miniature and Enormous Bubbles: Float along Townhall Street in a bubble-filled journey! Weather dependent.
Artisan Food on Market Square
Market Square will be filled with artisan food producers displaying their finest offerings. A warm welcome to newcomers Taste Counts and Killeshandra Gourmet Mushrooms!
Created in Cavan recipe book will also be available and features recipes from Created in Cavan members, renowned chefs from the region, and residents who have used as much local produce as possible. This initiative supports the community and promote local ingredients. The proceeds from the sale of the recipe book will be donated to three deserving Cavan charities:

DineYard (Street Food)
Get ready for our unique outdoor-dining experience during the Christmas market festivities on Townhall Street this Sat 2nd and Sun 3rd Dec! 💙
Outdoor seating area will create the perfect opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the culture and community spirit that exists in our county.
Townhall Street will be temporarily pedestrianised during the market so children can play outside safely and adults can socialise!
Parking is available at Cavan Cathedral, Library and Courthouse.
